The core stages: inventory, structure, rules
The foundation of any project, regardless of scenario
Whatever scenario you pick, these three stages always come first. Do them once, thoroughly, and they become the backbone of your system.
Stage 1 — The inventory
You can't organize what you can't see. The first step is to find out exactly what you have.
"Go through this whole folder, including subfolders. Give me a table with: file name, type, what it's about (one sentence), and the date if you can infer it. At the end, group them by category and tell me how many are in each."
Now you have a map — and you've probably rediscovered a few things you'd forgotten. That's the "aha" moment.
